Shortly after the land fall of Hurricane Katrina, FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) began commandeering tractor trailer units to bring relief and much needed supplies to those areas most affected. In this process FEMA began offering compensation to trucking companies and other logistics services providers at incredibly inflated prices. Naturally, many of these providers jumped at the opportunity for windfall profits, thereby creating an unexpected and unmanageable shortage of available equipment. Trucks became difficult if not impossible to find for our clients and the shipping public. Pricing for that equipment, if available, escalated dramatically.

DSi Freightways, LLC, the Transportation Broker Division of Distribution Solutions, Inc., was formed in the wake of Katrina to insure a steady supply of available equipment at reasonable freight rates for our clients for those transportation market sectors like truckload, expedite and volume LTL ( less than truckload) that are more susceptible to market volatility. Maintaining and supplementing this data base is a continuous process.
